Student Experiences
  • • Created Circuit ID’s for cross connect circuit provisioning to help ensure Facebook’s worldwide needed network capacity.
    • Established excellent partnership between carriers and colo pop sites, which led to better communications for cross connects to be completed in a timely manner with less demarc errors or issues.
    • Worded with vendors and carriers such as Equinix, Verizon Terremark, Telecity, Coresite, XO, Sprint, AT&T, and China Telekom.
    • Completed the cross connects with carries and vendors between each other for standard cross connects, extended cross connects, metro cross connects, and reverse cross connects.
    • Updated Sales Force entries with the demarc information for the A-Side & Z-Side panels, Circuit ID, Colo Cable ID, router interface ports, and vendor order/ticket number.
    • Verified all Cross Connect were showing the interface ports up and that there were good light levels on both end of the cross connect. And updated Facebook’s internal task ticket for the requested cross connect that was completed and verified to be handed after I placed the circuit into production into Sales Force.
    • Worked with colo pop sites and vendors on issues when there was no good light levels or the interface was showing down due to the vendor or carrier no having their circuits turned-up or I would request that the SFP or XFP optics needed to be cleaned and the fiber cables changed out.
