Ever want to coordinate your own 50,000 person music festival, extreme sport competition, or non-profit fundraiser that benefits a community? The first step is finding one of the many event planning internships to learn the methodology and planning process that leads to a successful event. By completing an event planning internship, you’ll most likely learn events are more difficult to coordinate than most people think. You’ll dive into the main phases of event planning, starting with developing realistic timelines that correlate with your company or clients view, and, how to go about volunteer acquisition and development.
But that’s only the first step of being an event planning intern. Next, you’ll learn how to actually get people to show up to your event. Luckily you already have some experience from your previously completed marketing internship, so you have an idea but you’ll quickly discover marketing an event is a different than marketing a service or tangible product. But don’t worry, you’ll learn how to market and promote your event at a grassroots level and how to create community buzz.
To finish your event planning internship, you’ll learn how to effectively implement and manage your event ensuring a positive experience for all attendees that will in end, leave a lasting impression and memory no one will forget.
